One-Step Prelap  — posted by steve cohen   Most people create overlap cuts (split edits) in a two-step process, making a straight cut first and then overlapping it by trimming one element. But there’s a hidden, one-step way to do it that you may not know about. It only works at the end of your sequence, but that makes it appropriate when you’re creating a first assembly and adding to the end of a growing timeline. This short video (3:15) shows you how to do it.

Although it’s primarily relied upon for creating motion titles and graphics in 3D space, Avid® Marquee® can also make quick work of still graphics and titles. One example of this is the creation of lower-third graphics.
