A life story / Tribute documents, informs, entertains and preserves. Very
similar and very concept and Bibliogrphy oriented,
A life story / tribute documentary can be long or short, presented on the internet, on big
screens at recognition or celebration events, on the tv or on a computer. A life
story documentary can be shown at a wedding, an anniversary, a funeral, or just
about anywhere. Here's a few examples:
Tribute Video Example (Not mine) - Cut by
professional television editors, this 4 1/2 minute short is an excellent
example of a testimonial or tribute video, The framing, cuts, closeups
and mid shots flow. The excerpts were kept short to keep your attention.
Participants obviously said a lot more during the initial filming, but
notice how short and direct almost all the clips end up being/.
This example was created with purpose and shows the results of
pre-planning and composure footage. Transitions are varied from straight
cuts, plain fades to white flash.
Louie Heckert Memorial DVD - Louie Heckert, Mr.
Grand Lake, died in 2006 from a moose attack, his failing eyesight
playing a factor.
This 7 minute video uses personal
interviews with laviler microphones, , PIP (picture in picture), video
inlays,
John B. Nelson (1947 - 2009)
Johnny B has been a
familiar face all over Grand County and a resident of Grand Lake for
over 22 years. A career in the National Park Service brought him
to Rocky Mountain National Park where he worked until retirement. For
the past several years, he ran his own trucking business. Known to
some as Lefty, John was a founding member of the Colorado Rangers, a
local cowboy re-enactment group popular throughout the county at special
events and historic occasions.
A true cowboy in every sense, Johnny B loved horseback riding, hunting,
camping and womanizin. His gravelly voice, twinkling eyes and that way
he chuckled at his own inner jokes will truly be missed by all.
Born in Reno, Nev. on June 27, 1947.
Jackson - The Pot Bellied Pig (90 seconds) - a
lesson in "less is best".
This short was extracted from a longer
five minute version. Viewing both will somewhat
demonstrate what "more in less" or "less is best" is
all about.
The average web viewer's (or short video viewer's)
attention has to be captured quickly - and once over 2 minutes, if the
viewer is not hooked, has some time on their hands, or is really into
the subject or topic, you are going to lose their connection.
The full 45 minute version, which I' am not going to
post it, went to Jackson's owner, who wanted to preserve the
memory of this 18 year pet. Jackson died within a month or
so of when this video was filmed, but only recently (almost 10 months
later), has the owner been able to view this video. Pot bellied pigs are
beloved pets - and their loss is as difficult as any other pet family
member.
